About Us

Seaside Home Veterinary Care is an in-home veterinary service built around meaningful relationships with our clients and their pets. We bring veterinary care directly to their homes, creating an opportunity to practise medicine in a uniquely personal setting.

Our clients know us, and we know them. We take the time to listen, understand their needs, and get to know their animals in the place they're most comfortable.

We do things a little differently, and we think the results are pretty special.

What Your Days Would Look Like

This isn't your typical day in veterinary practice, and that's one of the things we love most about it.

You'll start your day at our office in West Saint John, where you'll meet up with your dedicated Veterinary Assistant, review the day's appointments, and head out together.

Your support person does the driving, giving you time between appointments to complete medical records, follow up with clients, review cases, and prepare for what's next. You also have our office team, veterinary technician, and practice manager supporting you and your practice.

Your appointments might include wellness examinations, vaccinations, blood work, ultrasounds, or helping a family say goodbye to a beloved pet.

You'll visit patients in their own homes, where you can focus on one family at a time, without a waiting room full of people waiting for your attention.

There's time to listen. Time to explain. Time to build relationships. And often, time to enjoy the little moments that make this profession so rewarding.

Of course, this is still veterinary medicine! Some days will be busy, plans will change, and you'll need to balance compassionate, individualized care with efficiency and good time management. You'll be responsible for guiding your support person, managing your appointments, and keeping your records and follow-ups on track.

But you'll be doing it with a supportive team behind you, and a practice model designed to make excellent care feel achievable.

Our veterinarians work daytime hours, Monday to Friday, with full-time consisting of four weekdays per week. No weekends. No on-call.

About You

You're a capable, compassionate veterinarian who genuinely enjoys people.

You find satisfaction in connecting with clients, understanding their perspectives, and helping them make informed decisions about their pets. You recognize that kindness and emotional intelligence are every bit as important to the client experience as clinical knowledge.

You're comfortable working independently, confident in your clinical judgment, and motivated to manage your responsibilities without needing someone to keep you on task.

You have good time management skills, communicate clearly, and know how to balance meaningful client interactions with the practical demands of a busy day.

You're also a team player who welcomes feedback, takes accountability, and is happy to lend a hand.

You'll need to be comfortable navigating emotional situations, particularly end-of-life appointments, where the ability to provide genuine compassion and reassurance is especially important.

Above all, you care about doing good work, treating people well, and continuing to grow as a veterinarian and as a person.

Experience

Because this is a largely independent clinical role, a minimum of 1–2 years of clinical practice experience is required.

We believe in autonomy built on trust and strengthened over time through consistent, thoughtful work.

Location & Start Date

This position is based in Saint John, New Brunswick.

As a mobile practice, we don't operate a traditional veterinary clinic, but we have an office for administrative and technical work at 695 George Street in West Saint John.

Start date is negotiable. Vehicle for appointments is provided at business office.

We're open to either a full-time or part-time veterinarian, with full-time consisting of a four-day workweek.
